The application of a cooling paddle-like suction device triggers cell death in the fat cells but not skin cells, meaning other tissue remains unharmed.

During your initial consultation your suitability for treatment will be assessed, and measurements such as BMI, height, weight and blood pressure will be taken. Each fat freezing session lasts for approximately 70 minutes. The best results are seen with two treatment sessions (occurring 4 weeks apart).

Aftercare of cryolipolysis chin treatment

There is no down time after having your chin treatment session. Although you can go straight back to work after your treatment session, you will optimise the results seen if you follow the aftercare advice provided: keep physically active, drink lots of water and eat a healthy diet low in carbs. We also advise that you avoid saunas, sunbathing and alcohol after treatment.

Are there any risks or side effects of cryolipolysis/fat freezing treatment for the chin?

Some recipients may experience mild bruising, slight swelling, redness, itching or sensitivity around the chin area. Most side effects clear up within a few days of treatment and any discomfort can be eased with painkillers. A very rare side effect that can occur is panniculitis; inflammation and hardening of fatty tissue that can be resolved by surgery. However, as cryolipolysis is only administered by highly trained medical professionals, most of these side effects are minimised.

What results can I expect and how soon will I see results? Are the results permanent?

Most patients witness an improvement in their neck profile a few weeks after their second cryolipolysis treatment session. Prices vary by location, however, the average cost of one chin treatment sessions is 490£. This price includes the initial consultation, creation of a personalised treatment plan, two cryolipolysis sessions and an aftercare appointment.
